Email Sender Address Missing from All Exchange Online Smart Objects when Display Name is Present
K2 Exchange Online includes an Email Recipient Smart Object which allows you to submit an existing Email ID and provide a list of Emails for the To, CC and BCC field including the display name and email address. As an example, if I send an email as Barack Obama myemail@myemaildomain.com then the display name would be Barack Obama and the email address would be myemail@myemaildomain.com
This same functionality does not exist for the Sender (From) address in any of the Exchange Online Smart Objects. If an email is sent to Barack Obama myemail@mydomain.com the Email smart object will only display Barack Obama which requires the user to go back to their email account to find out who really sent the email.
This also presents a security issue. If I process an email from the Email Smart Object and based on who sent it trigger a process then it will be possible to "spoof" an email to trigger a workflow that shouldn't be triggered. Additionally and more importantly (assuming a firm's IT department has software to detect spoofing), it is very common to receive emails from generic display names such as Customer Service <customer_service@somecompany.com> and without being able to see the email address the information is of little to no value.
Please consider adding the from email address to the email recipient smart object and/or create an email sender smart object that allows the display name and associated email address to be displayed.
