K2 Five Connect - Need mainstream solution -- not a legacy "ride-along"
Reading the statement in K2 Five documentation: Installing K2 connect on a clean K2 Five environment: You cannot install K2 connect 5.0 in a clean K2 Five environment. You must install K2 blackpearl 4.7 with K2 for Visual Studio components first, and then install K2 connect 5.0.
concerns us quite a bit. We have no intention on installing K2 4.7 over K2 Five and DO NOT wish to take an upgrade path to make this happen. Are there plans to resolve this in the future? Is there an option to have a separate tier or box set up to have this K2 Five Connect configuration without affecting the primary site installation? This just seems to be a "temporary" solution until a future K2 Five Connect update or service pack. I would be surprised if other customers do not have similar concerns over this method. It sort of appears that all of the legacy dependencies on the Connect line were not able to be resolved before market.
Recommend "decoupling" the requirement or supporting K2 Five with say...Visual Studio 2015/2017. Going backward will be a show stopper for us and hampers our ability to integrate within our SAP-heavy enterprise.
