  1. K2 Five SYNC (AD\LDAP) - Excluding specific objects or OUs during Syncing is not possible currently

Currently, When we add a new domain to the K2 Five Identity Sync, there is no option to Exclude specific objects or OUs. Customers with multiple domains may require this feature as there could be same ID across multiple domains. In which case, searching by User Id or the First Name/Last Name appears to have multiple results for the same user which makes it difficult to pick the right account in the result set.

  2. Built in Excel broker service for consuming Excel or csv files via Smartform

When creating Smartform based report dashboard it would be useful to be able to upload or import data to a smartobject easily without third party broker service that is not supported.

  3. Integration of Source Control for K2 Artifacts

Integration of Source Control (e.g., GIT or TFS) such that representations of objects and configurations are able to be captured and managed via 3rd party configuration management. Capturing an entire package of features or capabilities including workflows, smart objects, forms, views and related artifacts.

This could also go a long way in supporting other "community" and sharing objectives of K2 in building the product line

  4. REST Broker: Properly Handle Alternate Response Codes

The REST broker only handles the success response content. If a 400-level error occurs and contains content in the response (such as an object describing the error that occurred), the content is not picked up by the service instance. All you get is the status code.

  5. Ad additional AD Attributes wLike VP information Employee ID with AD Get user details smart object

Currently in order to add additional attribute I need to download a market control which is not supported by K2. I'd love to see more integration with AD embedded in the K2 platform.

  6. Increase the number of fields retrieved via the AD User service object

We have many scenarios where we want to auto-populate form fields with users' information (Name, Email, etc.). We've found that via its GetUserDetails method, the AD User service doesn't retrieve certain core fields, like First Name and Last Name separately. These are important for us to build the forms as we want them.

We understand from a K2 service tech that the move from blackpearl to K2 Five removed some of the fields that were previously retrievable from the AD User object. Could we get those capabilities back? Basically we'd like to have as many out-of-the-box fields as are possible,…

  7. Selective refresh of database Service Instance - for individual database assets

Currently K2 only provides for a complete refresh of a Database Service Instance on SQL Server (and I assume other DBs too). For large LOB databases this takes a long time and creates more items than needed.

    • We end up with large numbers of service instance items in the list that will never be used in a K2 Smartobject.
    • It would be useful to select only certain DB assets (Stored Procs, Tables, Views) to be added to the Service Instance when initially creating, or updating.
    • As changes are made to DB assets over time - it would be beneficial to…

  8. Jira integration

It would be useful because automation/workflows/forms could be made to work with Jira or based on Jira issues.
There are many organizations making use of Jira, and they would find it useful to integrate K2 automation/actions based on submitted issues.
The easiest way to make this work would be to integrate K2 with the Jira REST API, but Jira does not have a SWAGGER file to be used by K2.

  9. View dependencies of service instances

It would be useful to be able to view any dependencies of service instances e.g. what smart object methods might be using a particular SQL service instance.

Quite often when moving to a new company, I find that people have created service instances, SQL instances, from custom brokers, etc and then ditched it and then started again with a new one. Probably occurs with early days development. But it would be good to be able to delete any custom service instances that are not required / being used.

  10. Allow usage of Service Account OAuth Token

At the moment, in K2, OAuth authentication will always mean that the OAuth Token is associated with the user executing/calling the SmartObject. This means that every user that uses a smartform with a smartobject that has an OAuth resource will have to get an OAuth token.

Security wise, this is great. The end-users of the smartform needs to authenticate to the back-end.

In some scenario's, this is NOT desired and K2 currently does NOT provide a solution for this.

It would be great if we can configure a service instance to use teh OAuth token associated with the k2 host…

  11. Add custom attribute to OOTB AD service

Active Directory already provide with custom attribute for users and groups. These attributes use to determine a lot of things that is not catered by common Active Directory attribute that are used by internal Microsoft Application to suite the company/organization needs and usually used for identifying users/group with that company/organization internal definition. We utilize the custom attribute a lot from generating Address Book Policy, Distribution List, Sharepoint Security etc. It would be beneficial if we could also have all the OOTB default custom attribute (users and groups) from Active Directory to be read and write in K2. Especially now Microsoft…

  12. K2 must be able to support complex JSON parsing including nested objects in arrays

Today K2 is only able to deserialize nested objects on the first level, but not inside structures.
This is a blocking issue as a web service client we don't control the API provided by the server.

As JSON parsing is the only way to work with web services, it must be fully supported and this includes arrays of nested Objects.

In the exemple below, K2 is not able to retrieve the data contained in the "nestedObject".

(Note that this has been confirmed by the K2 NE Professional Services team, check with Jaco Dippenaar for more details about the issue)

    {…

  13. data format - excel export

To have an excel export functionality is a great thing. To work further in the excel file it would be helpful to have the right data format in each column. At the moment the format for date, time, numbers etc. is not right and the filter does not work.

  14. Powershell Service Broker

Having out of the box support to run powershell scripts or commands via a SmartObject method call would be extremely useful in extending the functionality of the K2 platform while also adhering to the low-code philosophy of K2. The 'powershell service object' community project ( http://community.k2.com/t5/K2-blackpearl/PowerShell-Service-Object/ba-p/1025# ) is a start in the right direction, but for us is not really a viable solution as it is difficult to take on a dependency of an unsupported community project (especially since we have no in-house developers to maintain / enhance such a project going forward). Any work that has already been done…

  15. Support For 2-way SSL Certificates

k2 needs to support 2-way ssl certificate for authentications. This become very import for connecting to items like layer7 XML gateway for accessing other systems. This is a very common feature in today's web service world.

  16. Visual Studio 2017 support for K2 Five

I want to work on custom controls, brokers etc. for K2 Five. As Visual Studio 2017 is currently the default development environment for many organizations, we need an SDK, templates etc. for K2 Five

I prefer not to install old, legacy Visual Studio 2015 if possible!

  19. Pick a Category When Generating a Service Instance SmartObject

When we originally generate a SMO from a Service Instance (for example, a SQL Server SMO), it always defaults the SMO to the SQL Server Service category. We then have to move it into a category to provide ease and organization from the enterprise. If we then have to go in and make an update to the SMO and recreate, it will move the SMO back into the SQL Server Service category.

It would be a great feature if we have the ability to choose a category when generating a SMO from the Service Instance.

  20. Enhance existing REST Service Type to return XML as well as JSON

Firstly is there a way of doing this, as it seems the existing REST broker which is good (when you're dealing with JSON responses) doesn't allow this.

For example I'm trying to query https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/storageservices/blob-service-rest-api and MS just use XML in the response, which annoyingly looks like I have to build my own broker to handle.
