Hi,
This feature is now available with our 4.8.5 release. Comments will be required before archiving a process, or submitting it for archive approval.

Thanks for the suggestion. This will be part of our improvements to the overall archiving experience later this year.
We have an existing suggestion so I'll be merging this.

It would be great to have a mandatory comment box pop up when someone archives a process. We would then be able to see why they did it and if it is necessary.

Also include the ability to mass delete processes within a group. Promasters should be able to select multiple processes for deletion/archiving if they know they should be removed.

Thanks for all the comments on this topic guys. As you may have seen we've moved the "Improve the archiving functionality" idea raised to planned.
We've started work looking at the requirements, and providing more information to people archiving was a key theme we have heard in our user interviews thus far.
We'll keep you posted on timing as Zoe said but it is at the top of our list of improvements for this year.

100% agree, I have written a request for something similar but ours was around adding a comment with the archive in regards should the process be filed or deleted.

Was just about to request the same!
We're trying to keep our library tidy and cleaning up duplicates or unwanted processes is key. Having a comment on the archive request (like you do a process approval) would allow for this.
It should save to the change log to allow people to look back and see why a process was archived.
