Nintex Form Rules to set the value of controls
I'd like to be able to use Nintex Form Rules to set the value of a control or list item without needing Javascript. For instance, if my user selects a particular checkbox or selects a specific choice from one list, I'd like to set the value of other checkboxes (choice or yes/no fields), radio buttons (choice or yes/no fields), or enter a particular string into a single or multiple line text box.
I'd like it to function much like an IF statement in Microsoft Excel, where if a particular control equals a certain value, the value of other controls and their connected sharepoint list items can be set.

I am pleased to announce that with the September release of Nintex Forms for SharePoint 2013 and 2016, Set Field Value is now a new rule type in the responsive designer. This will allow you to set the value of the Single line of text control.
If you would like to see the rule set other fields, please submit a new idea.

This is a key feature I use all the time in InfoPath. Being new to JS, I'm a little needy in how to do this. The Actions is critical to my forms.

This is very important guys. The power of being able to set hidden fields based on what the person has selected is a requirement. I understand you can also use workflows but when you want to validate someone's input you can't rely on workflow as it is an after effect.
Would appreciate this functionality.

I agree, i have ran into many issues due to not having action rules like we did in Infopath. As well as the ability to just set up data connections to get information out of list where you can filter down with multiple filters instead of just one filter.

In InfoPath it is so easy to set up rules to fill in other fields based on the selected from a list, etc. but this Rule functionality does not exist in Nintex....IT SHOULD!!! A prime example is : Use selects "Approve" button, I want to the People Picker and Approval Date fields to be populated with the CurrentUser and CurrentDate...using InfoPath Rules....EASY....in NintexForms...can't be done!!!

I totally agree with Jamal and Gavin. I'm also in same boat where we need to convert large number of InfoPath forms to Nintex forms and as all the InfoPath forms being used heavy “Action” rules for setting another field value based on condition on others.
Do we know when this feature will be available in Nintex forms? Power users don’t know how to write Javascript code and we’d like them to easily convert InfoPath forms to Nintex forms without any lines of code.

A very large number of InfoPath forms use action rules to set values. When we are converting InfoPath forms to Nintex forms this is a sorely missed feature.
