Saving without closing a form
For a large form clients want a way to "save along the way". For a large form right now saving on a large form means that after a save the form will close and they will have to reopen it to continue working on it. This is too limiting. They want to be able to save and the form stays open.
I am pleased to announce we have just released the latest version of Nintex Forms for SharePoint 2013 and 2016 that includes a new button action called ‘Save and continue’.
How does Microsoft currently save Office Online documents? Ideally we would want to emulate that behaviour so it is a consistent experience across SharePoint and Office 365.

I think an ideal implementation of this feature would recognise the changes as the user types them and save them back to the list in real time.
Possibly even detecting multiple users editing the same form and updating open forms with changes in real time.
A more realistic goal for this feature would probably be to have a timer that could be set. And then for example every 2-5 mins if changes had occurred or if the page was being closed send those change back to be saved.
I think some interesting ideas to think of with this would be.
Could this auto save as a draft copy (maybe injected into the version history or to a second list) and still have a save button. Then when a user could still choose when to submit the form and trigger any workflows on the form, and have a copy they are still working on.
I think how these versions of the form appear in the version history would be important to consider, maybe an option so only the last auto change for a unique user should be kept.
We have implemented this behaviour on a sophisticated client form (over 100 columns) that supports this behaviour. It has visual html flyout tool tips and support for multilingual, visual indicators for when a form is saved. It also supports attachments (multiple). On the workflow task form it supports saving back to the original list item. I would be happy to walk through this solution with you.
I have the same requirement in my work place. When can I expect this feature be available to Nintex O365/Nintex 2013
I have the same requirement at my company as we need to be able to Save without submission of the Nintex Form.
When will this be available ?
So, 2 years from request date to "on the roadmap for development"; should we expect 2 years before "development has commenced" and another 2 years for "in beta"? If so, will need to look for a different solution.
This is being asked for by my project and it would be extremely helpful to know when this will be addressed.

Any update on timing? This is absolutely necessary!
This is a big problem for users and it steers them away from any Nintex application. It causes a lot of extra work and frustration for many users.
The lack of this feature is really proving to be detrimental for my clients who often give up and go with Visual Studio implementations instead. I'd like to sway them to hold out for this feature but I don't see an update since March?

Can someone from Nintex please provide an update on save &continue/ auto save feature in forms? When will this be available?
Any update on this feature requirement?

We are using forms where users are required to make calculations along the way. Calculations require that accounting is made, and can not be done in one "go". The calculations themselves may only take minutes, but finding the information to do the calculations can take days (on and off).
Users often get interupted while finding information, which is why we would likt to have this.
Would this feature include having a Save button along with a Submit button? Similar to auto-saving, it is critical to allow a user to save the form without submitting it. This way the form could be saved without running the form validation for required fields.
Ever heard of multi-tasking? This should be available now.
Would really need this as well!

autosave has been on the roadmap for a very long time. Do you have any information on it?
Will this be one of the features that only gets added to the Enterprise version?
