  1. Different layouts for New / Edit / Display mode (and print)

For larger forms it can be quite complicated to manage different designs for New / Edit / Display mode all in one single form.

In addition to having the ability to use rules, coniditional field properties, panels and custom JavaScript, it would be nice to have additional layouts for this modes like in InfoPath.

Forms would then be more easy to read and understand for form designers.

    Hi all,

With the development of Universal Forms, we are looking at how the current form modes are supported in the existing product.

At this time we are still planning to continue using functions to detect form modes. This is so we are able to support migrations but also give a lot of flexibility in the rules engine.

We do not plan to bring different layouts to Universal Forms at this time. As we are introducing multipage to Universal Forms, we do need to figure out how a multipage form will be printed and is under consideration.

I will update this feature when we release an Advance Preview of Universal Forms if our position changes based on feedback.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  2. Allow Copy and Paste across different Nintex Forms

It's great that Nintex Forms allows you to copy and paste controls within a form but sometimes I need to copy one or more controls from one form to another. I don't want to export and then import the whole form, that's too much work. I just need to copy a few controls between forms. I guess I'm asking for something like Workflow snippets to be enabled for Forms.

    Thanks,
    Bruce

Thanks for your suggestion Bruce. We have discussed this feature in the past and have added it to the backlog.

    Cheers,

  3. Create forms functionality for Surveys

Allow for the creation of forms / layout for surveys. At best the Sharepoint survey functionality is a bit lacking and there will be the benefit of being able to publish this survey form as a mobile version.

    Thanks for your suggestion Francois.

Nintex Forms is mainly focused on the List content type and all derivatives. The Survey content type is a little bit different due to the Rating Scale which we currently do not have.

We may consider it in the future, but at the moment we are focused on Universal Forms release.

I will update this idea if we change our position on this idea.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  4. Autocomplete Feature

It would be great to be able to have an Autocomplete feature (similar to google search) built into the forms. We would like for our users to beable to type in the first couple characters and display results based on what they entered above/below. Another key feature would be the ability to click/select on the autocomplete function to fill it in.Lastly, to be able to reference a list and filter that specific feature based on another list within sharepoint would be optimal.

This is now in the backlog and something we would like to implement with Universal Forms for the List Lookup control.

I will update this feature when we begin development on the List Lookup control for Universal Forms for SharePoint.

Thanks for the suggestion. We do not have any plans to implement this at this time. If we change our plans, I will update this idea.

  6. Classic Forms converted into Responsive Design Forms

It would be great if there was a way to convert or import Classic Nintex Forms into the Responsive Design Form. Deleting your 'classic' form and re-creating it as a 'responsive design' form is a pain and it duplicates the time/energy put into the initial form builder. I can't justify the cost to have my team update our forms.

    Thanks for your suggestion Ashlee.

I get this request quite a bit. At the moment we are focused on releasing Universal Forms which will replace the existing Responsive Designer. Once we have shipped Universal Forms, I hope to revisit this idea.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  7. Responsive forms rule to populate people control

Rules currently allow you to set field value of textbox controls. We would like to use a rule to populate a people control (i,e, set manager field people control based on another people control using user profile lookup).

Thanks for your suggestion Cassy. With Universal Forms, you will be able to set the value of any control. I just tested setting the People Picker control in a test environment.

Would the person be hardcoded in the rule? Or would you expect a UserProfileLookup runtime function output to populate the field? Let me know in the comments below.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  8. Rules to set a field value in Classic designer

I love the addition of the responsive designer. It would be extremely helpful if the classic designer also had the ability to create rules to set a feilds value.

    Thanks for your suggestion Dawn.

We definitely understand the value of ‘Set field value’ rules, but we do not have any plans to bring this functionality to Classic at this time.

Once we ship Universal Forms for SharePoint, we will revisit Classic forms in the future.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  9. Sizing Controls

There should be an option to make one or more controls the same size as another selected control on the form. This is a very common option to have in graphical interface designers, as seen in Netbeans and Visual Studio.

Select a control: then select X number of controls, right click to get options to "Make controls the same size" >> first selected control is the control that determines the size of all other selected controls.

As we are currently focused on Universal Forms, this is not on the short to medium term.

Once we have shipped Universal Forms for SharePoint, we will revisit Classic Forms.

  10. Introduce a 'Rules Inspector'

It would be great to have some kind of tool that acts as "Rules Inspector" listing detailed info about:
    - unused rules
    - duplicated rules
    - rules using deleted or non-existing controls
    - rules per control
The output should be in a new browser tab & printable.

Hi Susan. Hopefully our new Rules Engine in Universal Forms will make your for development much simpler in the future and address some of these issues.

Once we have released Universal Forms for SharePoint, I will update this feature. It will be good to get your feedback once it is released and review this feature request.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  11. Convert Responsive Form to Classic Form

I understand why converting classic into responsive is not at all feasible, however, I'd think that the opposite would be possible!

When working for clients, we will often try - whenever possible - to use Responsive. Usually with the beginnings of requirements, Responsive is feasible.

And then it hits ... "Can we ((do this thing that needs javascript))"? Can we ((do this thing that needs css))?" and we have to go and delete the entire form and recreate it in Classic.

Until responsive can do all the same things classic can, we definitely need a convert tool for it.

    Thanks!

  12. Cascading Lookups need re-work

Currently building cascading lookups is cumbersome and very restrictive in where I can get data from. Having to create separate lists for populate the cascading values is not sustainable. I should be able to populate Form variables to filter and pull data from, also should be able to filter and get choices from unbound choice fields. Also the postback that currently happens is a real deterrent from using the controls. Re loading the form and having to scroll back to where you were at, isn't a very good user experience.

    Thanks for your suggestion Dan.

We will certainly be considering how cascading lookups are configured when we rebuild the List Lookup control for Universal Forms.

If you have specific feedback regarding your experience, please provide it in the comments section below.

    Thanks,
    Euan

  13. colored responsive controls

With the September 2017 update, Nintex on-premises responsive forms are coming. After some hours testing it, I miss a lot of "old" features, like the possibility to join a CSS style to a control. With responsive forms, we completely lost the ability to change the color of a label text, or the background color in a panel.

New controls are really cool, but it would be even better if we could personalize them a little bit more! If, for some reason, custom css styles are forbidden, there's a way to let user set up some basic parameters in each control…

Thanks for your suggestion. We are currently doing research into improving the style builder for Universal Forms.

This feedback will be considered in our next iteration of the style builder.

  14. formula checker

It's be nice , at the moment that you are designing/configuring a formula, to have a kind of formula checker so as to verify formula sintax.

    Thanks for your suggestion Fernando.

We have incorporated this feedback into our latest formula builder in Universal Forms.

I will update this feature when we get closer to release of Universal Forms for SharePoint.

  15. Upload image directly to library from Image Control

When using images in the forms design, having the ability to upload the image within the design experience rather than having to upload the images into a library prior .. And being able to browse for existing images would make designing much easier.

  16. Update the Classic Designer Controls to look the same as the Responsive controls

For a consistent look and feel to forms designed in either of the designer choices (responsive of classic) it would be good to update the designer controls to more closely reflect the look and feel of the new responsive controls which have a modern, clean and fresh look to them.

Thanks for your suggestion Ryan. I can tell you that the new Responsive Designer will look very different to classic when Universal Forms will be released as its a new engine.

Once we release Universal Forms for SharePoint, we will revisit our strategy around Classic Forms.

  17. Publish a Nintex Forms from the Save a Site as a template

When creating a new site from a saving a site as template that includes a content from a Site that has a published Nintex Forms, this new site will not have the Forms published. The user needs to Publish the Form manually.

This unpublished Forms only occurs with condition below:
    - The list or library has other custom content type
    - From the list setting page, the custom content type has been made as Position from Top as No 1 and the default content type of the list (Item) as No2. This can be done by click "Change new button…

  18. Support for Forms library content type in Nintex Forms

Currently It looks like we can’t able to customize Nintex forms for “Forms Library” content type and Nintex Forms (Customize the Item Form) icon on ribbon is disabled for Forms library.

We have so many forms customized in InfoPath and published as Forms library, and we are unable to convert those forms to Nintex forms because of this unsupported content type feature.

Is it possible to add Nintex Forms (Customize the Item Form) feature for forms library as well ?

    Thank you.

  20. Offline form builder

It would be fantastic to have a dedicated app to build Nintex forms in rather than being forced to do it via the browser.

I understand that a lot of the functionality requires online access (lookups and columns etc), but the ability to build in a dedicated app and then publishing that to SharePoint would be a great addition.
