  1. Form Canvas Resizing

Rather than having to go into the form settings to update height and width values, it would be nice to be able to resize the canvas of the form by dragging the corners and sides of the canvas instead.

  2. Conditional Sub Forms

When designing Forms, have the option to show a Sub Form (or section) in the Form based on a Condition using @Formula Language.

    Example: @If(@IsNewDoc;"SubFormA";"SubFormB")
When a New Doc is created, a subset of fields is shown from SubFormA, else the fields are shown from SubFormB

SubForm can be Expanded or Collapsed (settings - allow to override this, for example Initially - collapsed). Have a look at the Lotus Notes clients.

  3. Reset 'desktop' layout - but retain others.

Within the Nintex Forms designer, there is a "reset" button - but that resets ALL forms designs.

I have a scenario where I need to reset the 'DESKTOP' layout (only) - but can't. I can either reset ALL - or copy from the 'mobile' layout - and can't delete the DEFAULT layout.

Perhaps the dialog for "replace with layout" could have a "reset to auto-generated" as well ??

    _layouts/15/NintexForms/CopyFromLayout.aspx

Or - the ability to delete the default layout - meaning 'reset to auto-generated' ??

  4. Implement a full API, including Getter and Setter functions, for form fields

Nintex Forms is currently an incomplete solution. The features and Javascript API for form fields are:

    a) Buggy. The "Store Client ID in Javascript variable name" function only works on some fields, as does setting help text.

    b) Inconsistent. E.g. Attachment fields have no help text attribute

    c) Incomplete. There is no consistent getter/setter API that works across ALL field types.

Item (c) is a major issue. Using the Javascript ".val()" works on some simple field types but not others.Taxonomy fields, People pickers, Attachment fields, Rich text fields, (lookup fields), all <b>don't</b> work with .val()

    Nintex would add massive value…

  5. Make where you write functions an actual code editor

It is very frustrating writing anything other than a basic formula in Nintex forms for several reasons. The biggest frustration though is that there is no validation. Even Microsoft Excel gives you and indication that your formula is invalid. Also marking closing and opening brackets and parenthesis would be a huge help. It seems like it would be a simple task to implement this and a huge win for users.

  7. List Lookup control should support the Multiple lines of text sharepoint column type

Because of how I designed 2 forms over 2/3 of a year ago, I need to spend extra time to perform a certain request for a client. I currently need to update 5 different choice controls with information that already exists in another list.

What leads to the issue described in the topic is that in my research to move this information out of choice controls and into a list lookup required me to set the column types to single line of text. Now, the list lookup control does support this, however one of the columns allows multiple selections, and…

  8. Ability to maintain a developer log/history for a Form

Currently there is no way a maintain a developer log/history of a form. This new feature would be similar to a flower-box that is used to explain the changes within a program. A possibility is to add another option under the (Form) Settings menu option.

  9. Option to trouble shoot problems in a form

At the moment if I create a form and part of the form such as a calculated field is not correct when I preview the form it just fails to load the form without an error (just a blank page). An option to identify problems at that point would be useful. at the moment I just have to remove parts of the form until it works and even then I am not 100%
    sure what caused the issue.

  10. Allow specific sizing of controls and panels.

In PixelPerfect forms designer it can be very difficult to maintain consistency in sizing across forms. We would like to see a HxW feature for all controls to ensure we can get precisely the same sizes - especially on panels, buttons and so forth, without needing to use CSS.

We do understand that responsive is available however at this point it does not fulfill all of our requirements (JS / CSS / several columns across, etc.)

This is similar to "Sizing Controls" (currently has 52 votes) however I feel ike there should be this option and that one.

  11. Move the "Delete form" button far away from other popular buttons such as "Close".

I truly believe that the delete form button should be either moved far away from other common buttons or have further steps added to complete the deletion such as "Fill out the following word to confirm delete"; especially considering there is little to no way to bring back a deleted form.

  12. Responsive Form - Panel Styling

It would be nice to have some ability to style panels on the responsive form.

I have run into issues where depending on the background color of the form the panel border is near impossible to see creating confusion on the form.

Being able to adjust the panel background color may help in this scenario as well.

I also often find the Title of the panel is missed as the standard font is easily looked over. some ability to put emphasis on the title would be welcome.

  13. Layering For Design Surface

    Hello,

The concept of layering would be a very valuable thing to add to the design surface of Nintex Forms. Right now we have only the ability to "Send to Back" or "Bring to Front". The way I envision layering to work : Allow for X number of layers to be created. Then allow for the user to select which layer they currently want to work with. All controls contained within that layer are displayed, and all others are hidden.

    Thanks

  14. Sort 'Connected to' dropdown and allow keyboard typing search

Ability for the 'Connected to' dropdown to be sorted alphabetically. Currently if I have 200 fields, it is hard to find them from the dropdown.

Also if I can start typing the field name, it should go to the first found item. Makes it quicker for development.

Thanks Felix. Agree that this would be useful where the number of list columns is high.

  15. Custom theme options for each element in responsive forms.

The ability to set custom styles and themes for specific items in the responsive forms.

    For example.

I have added 2 buttons, I want one to show as blue and the other as red. This is currently not possible with the out of box theme designer.

  16. Multi Line Textbox regex validation

You can do regular expression (regex) validation in single line textboxes, but not in multi line text boxes.
I want to be able to do this in multi line textboxes using the beginning and end anchors and the multiline flag.

  17. Generating Forms Preview

When you preview a Form you need to click the Preview button in the ribbon then on the next screen select the device type and then hit generate preview. I think it would be much simpler and quicker to have a drop-down on the preview button which shows the list of device types, then you just select one and it will generate the preview.. Simpler user experience

  18. Have a field property for "will update" separate from Visible and Enabled

On many occasions I find I need a form control that might not be visible to most users, but WILL update the underlying value.

Currently in Nintex Forms (NF), if you make a control either invisible or disabled (so a user cannot type into it), it also ceases to control the associated value.

You can fudge around this by either using CSS to hide the control, or hacks like hiding the control behind another control, or a plain white "masking" panel. However these are kludges, and make the form harder to edit subsequently.

    Logically, whether a form control:

    1) Is…

  19. Validate formula within the formula builder

    Hi

Firstly I cannot see if this has been requested before, apologies if it has!

I was wondering if it was possible to have a validate button added to the formula builder screen at all? This would be extremely helpful when creating formulas.

I have attached screenshot from another program I use which has something similar when I create formulas.

    Thanks

    Thanks for your suggestion Karen.

We often get a lot of feedback about the formula builder which we are incorporating into our new formula builder for Universal Forms. Our new Formula Builder will ensure the formula validates while building. The builder will not allow you to save if the formula is invalid. This builder will also include help text to let you know if and why the formulas is not correct.

This has not been released as yet, but once it has been released, I will update this idea.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  20. Ability to have linked/unlinked controls between Web Form and Mobile App Form

By default a single control is linked between the Web Form and the Mobile App Form.

It would be good to have the option of unlinking the control (instead of deleting the control in the Mobile App Form for example and then creating a new control with different properties to the Web Form).

An example would be a textbox where I'd like enabled on the Mobile App Form, but disabled on the Web Form. I can do this manually for one control, but when it comes to 100 controls, it becomes very time consuming!
