  1. Allow specific sizing of controls and panels.

In PixelPerfect forms designer it can be very difficult to maintain consistency in sizing across forms. We would like to see a HxW feature for all controls to ensure we can get precisely the same sizes - especially on panels, buttons and so forth, without needing to use CSS.

We do understand that responsive is available however at this point it does not fulfill all of our requirements (JS / CSS / several columns across, etc.)

This is similar to "Sizing Controls" (currently has 52 votes) however I feel ike there should be this option and that one.

  2. Forms Designer - check-out/check-in form before/after update

Is there a way to prevent that more than one person at a time modifies the same form, e.g. by a check-out/check-in functionality? It has happened more than once (due to misunderstandings or lack of communication) that two developers work on the same form - which results in the loss of the changes of one of them.

  3. customize list view

I often customize SharePoint Page Layouts and Views. It would be great if Nintex could also include the ability to customize List Views. Another idea would be custom queries of Lists with nice design options.

  4. Update the Classic Designer Controls to look the same as the Responsive controls

For a consistent look and feel to forms designed in either of the designer choices (responsive of classic) it would be good to update the designer controls to more closely reflect the look and feel of the new responsive controls which have a modern, clean and fresh look to them.

Thanks for your suggestion Ryan. I can tell you that the new Responsive Designer will look very different to classic when Universal Forms will be released as its a new engine.

Once we release Universal Forms for SharePoint, we will revisit our strategy around Classic Forms.

    Euan

  5. Print to PDF: On the form editor show where page breaks occur

Showing within the editor where page breaks might occur when printing to PDF would help form designers add Page Break Guides. Obviously designers would still have to account for expanding fields, however, showing it within the designer would prevent having to preview forms.

  6. Dynamic Responsive Forms based on browser width

Nintex Responsive Forms would be greater if they could resize dynamically when the browser width is change

  7. Set the value for Multiple lines of text control and other control types

Good day, i'm aware that this has been released on the responsive forms designer for the single line of text control. Many customers would like the same functionality to support other control types such as the multiple lines of text control. This will allow form designers to achieve some more advanced functionality when they are building their forms.

  8. Automatically update the control when the list column data type get modifed

Would like to have a control in Nintex Form get updated automatically when data type on the list column get modified.

    For example :
Single text field modified to choice (dropdown list)

The expected result is to have the Nintex Form Designer automatically change the Single line text control into a dropdown list.

  9. Change the Button To Select Multiple Form Elements on a Mac

To select multiple elements in Nintex forms you must press Control + Click. On a Mac Control + Click is the shortcut to bring up the right click menu. When you select multiple elements on a form on a Mac (in the designer) a the right click menu pops up every time. This is very frustrating because it seems like you guys never tested the form designer on a Mac.

  10. Art board area for repositioning objects

It would be really useful (for large forms especially but even smaller ones too) if there was some sort of art board area in the forms designer that you could put objects on to move around rather than making the form itself really wide and then resizing at the end. This would be a dedicated workspace type area in the forms designer that persists.

  11. Implement a full API, including Getter and Setter functions, for form fields

Nintex Forms is currently an incomplete solution. The features and Javascript API for form fields are:

    a) Buggy. The "Store Client ID in Javascript variable name" function only works on some fields, as does setting help text.

    b) Inconsistent. E.g. Attachment fields have no help text attribute

    c) Incomplete. There is no consistent getter/setter API that works across ALL field types.

Item (c) is a major issue. Using the Javascript ".val()" works on some simple field types but not others.Taxonomy fields, People pickers, Attachment fields, Rich text fields, (lookup fields), all <b>don't</b> work with .val()

    Nintex would add massive value…

  12. Control in use (with filters)

Currently we can use the tab named "Controls in use" on the left side to view what controls we are using.
The problem is that when you are designing a form with many controls, we 'd like to filter that tab by ControlName or ControlType

  13. please make sure that developer can open Modal dialog in nintex form.

    when i am trying to open a modal dialog in nintex form, neither SP.SOD.execute('sp.ui.dialog.js', 'SP.UI.ModalDialog.showModalDialog', options);
    nor
    SP.UI.ModalDialog.showModalDialog(options)
    is going to work.
When I googled it, I found that it is because Nintex in O365 is a APP and form is displayed in iframe.

  14. Open list settings from form designer

Option 1 - While working in the form editor it would be nice to include a button that opens the list settings in a new tab.

Option 2 - Open the list settings in a pop up dialog.

I find myself needing to close the current form that I'm working on to navigate to the list settings, make a change, and then go back to the list settings.

  15. select objects

Bug: When objects overlap and you select one, the only way to move or resize it is to use the keyboard arrows to move it away from it's current position. If you select, then let go of mouse button, then click and drag it will drag the object on top (not the one you originally selected). Being able to change the order of overlapping objects would be good too (ie. bring forward, send back, as per Microsoft drawing tools).

  16. Forms editor needs a structure view or control, as common in graphics programs

In graphics programs like Photoshop, Serif Drawplus, Xara etc. it is common to have the option of a "structure" or "layer" control.

This control shows all the items in a drawing (form), and can present (for example):

    1) The Z-order layering of items. Incredibly useful to find items hidden behind other controls in a big form. Also you can control the Z order of items by drag+drop rather than grinding through endless sequences of "bring to front" or "send to back" that are so eay to get wrong.

    2) The nesting of items (e.g. controls in panels). Easily move controls…

  17. Have a field property for "will update" separate from Visible and Enabled

On many occasions I find I need a form control that might not be visible to most users, but WILL update the underlying value.

Currently in Nintex Forms (NF), if you make a control either invisible or disabled (so a user cannot type into it), it also ceases to control the associated value.

You can fudge around this by either using CSS to hide the control, or hacks like hiding the control behind another control, or a plain white "masking" panel. However these are kludges, and make the form harder to edit subsequently.

    Logically, whether a form control:

    1) Is…

  18. Multi Line Textbox regex validation

You can do regular expression (regex) validation in single line textboxes, but not in multi line text boxes.
I want to be able to do this in multi line textboxes using the beginning and end anchors and the multiline flag.

  19. Validate formula within the formula builder

    Hi

Firstly I cannot see if this has been requested before, apologies if it has!

I was wondering if it was possible to have a validate button added to the formula builder screen at all? This would be extremely helpful when creating formulas.

I have attached screenshot from another program I use which has something similar when I create formulas.

    Thanks

    Thanks for your suggestion Karen.

We often get a lot of feedback about the formula builder which we are incorporating into our new formula builder for Universal Forms. Our new Formula Builder will ensure the formula validates while building. The builder will not allow you to save if the formula is invalid. This builder will also include help text to let you know if and why the formulas is not correct.

This has not been released as yet, but once it has been released, I will update this idea.

  20. Customize AssignToDo Task with Nintex Forms

When using a FlexiTask or RequestData Task the form can be customized with Nintex Forms.

It would be very helpful if also the AssignToDo Task can be customzied.
