  2. Ability to Copy and Paste Named Controls and Item Properties

Copy and pasting formulas with any kind of named control or item property seems to fail. You have to manually find and double click the item you want to add into your formula every time. So for any complex formula that I am trying to copy from another control I have to do it all from scratch.

  3. Cascading Dropdown - Set Default Value if only one option available

When you use the technique for cascading drop down controls if the second control only has 1 value available set this as the default display value within the control.

Users shouldn't have to open up the second control to select the value.

  4. Allow Current User Filter on List Lookup Control in Mobile Form

In SharePoint 2010 mobile form, the Current User filter does not work in the List Lookup control on a mobile form. The error received is "Error getting list entries". This is a known issue (had a support ticket for this). It would be very helpful to provide a mobile experience that mimics the online experience with this filter criteria. Because of this, the mobile app is not being used, as the list to scroll through is too long.

  5. Form Control: User Lookup to container in AD

The Person or Group column in SharePoint is limited to "All" or users from within a specific SharePoint Group. It doesn't permit the selection of AD users from a specific location within Active Directory.

In the case of LDAP (FBA) users, it would be nice to have a new form control that can be link to lookup users from within AD.

I guess this could be the Person or Group column type with additional settings (as overrides)?

  6. Alert when Live forms are not submitted

Form submissions that are submitted are lost due to Database connectivity or some live issue that occurred are lost in transmission. It would be nice to have an alert User that a form was lost in submission.

  7. Access named controls and variables from insert reference

If you are trying to customize the text for add row icon in a repeating section for example you cannot use named control values or form variables. Only Item properties are available. Same holds true for the insert reference function for other controls. The problem is that the value of the item property is not updated in a form until the form is submitted. You have to get the value from the named control connected with the item property or use a form variable to fetch value changes in the form while it is filled out. So if you want…

  8. Upload Direct to Library Control

A form control that provides Upload Directly to Library - which would place the file directly into the specified SharePoint Library.

  9. Copy/Paste Rules with Controls

When copying/pasting controls within a form, the designer does not copy the rules associated with that control. They are very easy to apply if you have a few but if you have a bunch of them, this can get time consuming. I'd suggest the default behaviour when copying a control is to copy all properties including rules.

  10. "Show on Ribbon" based on Named Control

There is an option to conditionally show a button in the ribbon based on an Expression, but there is not the option to build that expression based on a Named Control. This would provide the option to conditionally show or hide a button in the ribbon based on what the user is filling out at runtime, to match the conditional button appearance on the form via Rules.

  11. Ability to add placeholder text to controls

It would be useful if we could add placeholder text to controls in order to guide users through a form.

I'm aware that there is a workaround posted on Nintex's forum: https://nintex.jiveon.com/docs/DOC-3820-set-placeholder-text-hints-for-text-box-controls but this doesn't work for multiple lines of text with 'Rich text' or 'Enhanced rich text' enabled.

  12. Multi-select Drop Down

It would be awesome to have the ability to do do multi-selects on a choice control that was being displayed as a drop down menu with the ability to check off the selected items (place small check boxes next to each item). I know that other multi-select options are available, but sometimes a drop down is required which currently lacks the multi-select ability.

  13. Add option to hide controls (such as bottons) when printing to pdf

Currently (Nintex 2013 I cannot hide controls for printing (e.g. buttons such as print, close, etc.) Would be good to have a common property like "isBeingPrinted"in the formula builder that could be used to hide the element.

As we are currently building Universal Forms, we are considering how the buttons appear on the form and in the ribbon. We are taking a very minimal approach to the ribbon.

If you have any more feedback, please provide it in the comments section below.

  14. Prefer list column value over cached value (SQL & Web Service Controls)

The current implementation of the SQL and Web Service control breaks default SharePoint list behavior by prefering previously cached values. When by means of automation a list item is created without using the form UI and a form for that list has been set-up using the controls mentioned, subsequent editing of that item within the forms UI will show the message "The value has been updated outside the form", which is not expected behavior as SharePoint list item data integrity is now disregarded. The same effect can be seen when using SharePoint Quick Edit functionality and changing a column value…

  15. List Item Attachment for Task Forms

I like the idea of having Task Form per task ( Request Data , Request REview ..etc) and the assigned user can update the parent list as list columns are available in the task form except for Attachments.

Please add the ability to add/update attachments of the list item from tasks form.

We are currently building the functionality to see List Item attachments in Task Forms for New Responsive Forms for Office365.

This functionality will also be included in the New Responsive Forms for SharePoint when it is released.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  16. time

The out of the box Date Time control doesn't allow for the control to be used for Time only. This was a heavily used feature in InfoPath. I am working with a client in the banking industry who need to be able post hours of operation for different bank locations. The date portion is not needed. At the very least provide the ability to easily hide the calendar portion via JavaScript.

  17. resize list lookup drop down

Regular choice fields can be resized to your specifications but a list lookup drop down has a hard-set minimum length. Why?

  18. SQL Request Control - Multiple Fields in Query Results

In its "Run Now" option, the SQL Request control can use SQL queries returning multiple results. Even a query such as
SELECT * FROM tableName is valid.

However, same SQL Request control fails to parse data when having multiple fields.

In Nintex Forms 2013 Help document, last updated on Friday January 2016, Nintex gives an example of:

select FirstName, EmployeeID from Employees where Title like 'Title'

This query fails since we're asking for 2 fields, FirstName and EmployeeID.

In its current version, returning single result, we have to send a query for each field we need.
    This makes a lot…

Returning a data set rather than a single value is something we have discussed internally and are interested to explore. We will be revisiting how we query for data as we are building Universal Forms.

  20. Be able to attach multiple controls to a single column

Need the ability to show different views of a lookup list depending on a choice in a form. This entails attaching multiple controls with different rules to a single column in the list. See attached files for more details.
