  1. Show only unique values with Lookups

If we could include the option to include only unique values when building a lookup control it'd be swell!

I.e. I have a list of Departments with their corresponding Group. Each Group has multiple Departments, so there are multiple lines of each Group in the list. I want to be able to show only the unique values for Group when I build a lookup!

Thanks for your suggestion Scott. We are soon to begin building the List Lookup control for Universal Forms and will put this into consideration when building the new control.

      Cheers,

    • Ability to bound a value that edited via Quick edit to web request control

If the web request control is not connected to ID, when the user change the list column value via Quick Edit, the new value will not able to bound into the Nintex Form due to missing ID.

      • Add Single Line of Text to List Lookup Functionality

        Here's the scenario:

        List Lookup: Project.

Now, based on that project, I want to set fields to display: Project Manager; Location; Budget.

And, more importantly, I need this to work on Nintex Mobile, and offline.

Right now, I address this by using a concatenated string of all data that my List Lookup connects to, and then I RegEx out each piece.

It works, but, it's stupid, and also it looks gross. In my list dropdown I see things like "Project: 123456; Manager: Rhia; Budget: $5,000; Location: Vancouver;" -- not a good UX.

        I know I can populate a dropdown with…

          Thanks for your suggestion Rhia.

With the new rules engine in Universal Forms, we are certainly thinking about how we could achieve this functionality.

I will update this idea when we have begun development on the List Lookup control and is integrated with the rules engine in Universal Forms.

          Cheers,
          Euan

          • Ability to add task outcome in UPPERCASE via task process action

Can we have the option to be able to add task outcomes either in UPPERCASE or LOWERCASE and not default to the first letter being in uppercase and the rest reverting to lowercase?

            Consider the below steps:

            1. Navigate to workflow designer

            2. Add a "Task Process" action to the canvas

            3. Double-click the Task Process action to configure it.

            4. You will notice that under the Task outcomes section, there are two outcomes: Approve and Reject.

            5. Rename the task outcome "Approve" to APPROVE.

            6. Click away from the text box and you will notice that it has changed…

            • Convert Responsive Form to Classic Form

I understand why converting classic into responsive is not at all feasible, however, I'd think that the opposite would be possible!

When working for clients, we will often try - whenever possible - to use Responsive. Usually with the beginnings of requirements, Responsive is feasible.

And then it hits ... "Can we ((do this thing that needs javascript))"? Can we ((do this thing that needs css))?" and we have to go and delete the entire form and recreate it in Classic.

Until responsive can do all the same things classic can, we definitely need a convert tool for it.

              Thanks!

As we struggle with the same issue as described in community thread https://community.nintex.com/thread/13293-set-margin-for-print-to-pdf I would like to suggest the introduction of page margin setting capability for the print to pdf-section of the form setting page.

                • hyperlink validation

I think it would be useful to have a built-in validation for hyperlink controls. Present behavior allows either addition of only the web address or only the text to display. When form is saved with only the web address entered, the value is used as the display text. When form is saved with only the text to display entered, no value is entered into the sharepoint field and it's as if nothing was done, no warning, no error. This is a universal requirement - that a hyperlink have a web address - and adding a product-level validation rule that threw…

                  • Option to make an sql request control read only

Currently there is no way to make an sql request control read only. We need to do this often. We pull data from our database and we don't want the person submitting the form to be able to change the data. The only way I found around this currently is to set the data type to label.

                    • SQL Request Control in task form does not populate the existing list column values

Currently the SQL Request Control is able to capture existing list column value when open in edit mode in List Item form, but in Task form it is not pre-populating the original values from the list column. This is the major drawback when we use multi-level approvals with SQL Request control.

                      • Create a "Notes" Field in the version section so one can note changes for future reference.

The addition of versioning is great. However, it requires a separate set of notes to know what changed from version "x" to "x1".

I love the addition of the responsive designer. It would be extremely helpful if the classic designer also had the ability to create rules to set a feilds value.

                            Thanks for your suggestion Dawn.

We definitely understand the value of ‘Set field value’ rules, but we do not have any plans to bring this functionality to Classic at this time.

Once we ship Universal Forms for SharePoint, we will revisit Classic forms in the future.

                            • Custom Form JavaScript and CSS. CSS Classes per control for (On-Premise) Nintex Responsive Forms

Being able to add custom classes to Controls and giving the option to enable Custom Javascript are shortcommings the responsive Form version now has.
eg. Filling People Controls, Managed Metadata, Choice Fields and Lookup fields cannot be filled using Javascript now. Adding this would make the Responsive Form variant a useable candidate.
Now, without this we cannot use this Responsive variant because we need those capabilities.

When filling out long forms with numerous input fields, it would be good to show the user the progress that they made ; like a Progress bar that shows how much % of the form has been filled in and how much is left.

This feature is still in the backlog. We are focused on Universal Forms for Office 365 at the moment.

Once we ship Universal Forms for Office 365 and SharePoint, we will review our offering of Live Forms.

I will update this feature once we ship Universal Forms.

                                  • Date time fields with more precision than 5 minute intervals

I manually hacked a date time control to give greater precision than 5 minute intervals. On save, it throws a correlation error.

Given that we can ONLY bind date controls to date/time fields, could you please give us an option with more precision than 5 minute intervals? This seems like a really silly limitation.

                                    • Cascading Dropdown - Set Default Value if only one option available

When you use the technique for cascading drop down controls if the second control only has 1 value available set this as the default display value within the control.

Users shouldn't have to open up the second control to select the value.

                                      • By default Multi Language support

Currently, if you want to build a multi language form, you must replace labels by "Calculate fields", then use a lookup function to get the correct value into a SharePoint Translation List.

This method is only acceptable if you have a small quantity of field on your form, due each calculate field means a request to the list, so 200 labels means 200 request to the list --> PERFORMANCE HUGE ISSUE.

The other way is building some JavaScript, but it means to add a lot of code lines in our forms (minimum one line par language-label).

                                        It would be great…

                                          Thanks for your suggestion.

We have been exploring this as an idea and something we would like to do in the future for Universal Forms.

Our current priority is to replace the existing Responsive Forms designer and have the same functionality migrated. Once this is done, we may revisit this idea.

If we have movement on this, I will update this idea.

                                          Cheers,
                                          Euan

A form control that provides Upload Directly to Library - which would place the file directly into the specified SharePoint Library.
