disable email notifications toggle
I have seen a number of occasions where, while testing or even just restoring a backup of a site collection for testing/development, it is very easy for Nintex Workflows to be triggered. This wouldn't be so bad except sometimes these workflows contain email notifications, resulting in end users inadvertently receiving emails that they shouldn't. This can be REALLY bad if lots of users get these inadvertent emails.
It would be great to see some kind of farm level and site level setting to toggle whether emails are actually sent for running workflows on that farm/site.

Is there any solution? I am also facing the same scenario and no clue on how to make the nintex workflow to stop sending mail notifications for specific sites. We cannot stop the feature as we need other tasks to run. Only the "Send notification" part should not work in this case for specific sites.

Yes please! I have a development 2013 farm and all of the production content dbs and nintex dbs have been upgraded into that farm. I've gotten complaints about Nintex notifications being received. I don't even have incoming or outgoing email set up on the dev farm yet, smtp hasn't been installed/configured and yet the messages get out. For now I've had to disable the workflow and Nintex workflow timer jobs until I can do something about this. Of course, without those timer jobs, the workflows can't be really be tested or new ones developed.
