  2. Browser bugs

Browsers still contain bugs in Workflow Designer:
    1) SP2016 - Firefox 66.0.3 (64-bit) - Set variable action, equals Value: add a Item Property of type Single line of text and attempt to type after it. This occurs in multiple actions.
    2) SPOnline - Firefox 66.0.3 (64-bit) - Set variable action, add item property. Unable to delete item property. Same occurs in the Body of a Send an Email action.
    3) SPOnline - Chrome 74.0.3729.108 (64-bit) - Recurring issue where dropdown selections are blank because the selections are displayed to the left of the viewable dropdown window. This happens in various…

  3. Overwriting an existing UDA in designer and Manage User Defined Actions section

Since we can overwrite an existing workflow by importing and then saving over an existing workflow, I propose the same functionality can be applied to designing a UDA.

For UDAs that cannot be promoted to farm level for whatever reason, a UDA would need to be imported into whatever sites are going to be using it. In my situation, we develop a UDA in a site designed for testing, and when our changes are ready to be deployed we'd then have to replicate those changes into the UDAs being deployed in production.

From my understanding, if we were even going…

  4. state machine/action set lane background colors

General idea: Allow for background colors to be applied within state machine branches and action sets.

Problem 1: Working with large state machines that have many branches it can be easy to lose track of which branch you're looking at. Especially when one branch can span your screen width-wise.

Problem 2: Working inside nested action sets can leave you confused as to which action set you're modifying actions in.

Solution: Allow the ability to apply background colors(and patterns such as vertical striped, horizontal striped, diagonal striped, etc.) to action sets and branches of state machines. Other areas may benefit from…

  5. Unable to get Seconds from CurrentTime

I have a calculated field on the form and I was unable to get seconds from Current time.

    Formula:
    userProfileLookup(Current User,'PreferredName')+""+replace(formatDate(Current Date,"MM/dd/yyyy"),"/","-")+"T"+replace(formatDate(Current Time,"T"),":","")

  6. No limit on "or" or "and" conditions

It would be great if there was no limit to the number of "or" conditions and the number of "and" conditions one could use in a rule on a form!

  7. Restrict time control

It would be great if we could restrict the window of time a user could select on a datetime control. For example, if I want users to only be able to select times between 8AM and 5PM, it would be nice to configure that in the control itself instead of creating a bunch of rules to ensure only a certain time frame is available each day.

  8. Save the Workflow from within a form

When working on a Nintex form within a Nintex Workflow, hitting save on the form should automatically prompt a save on the workflow. Having spent hours working on a form, I saved it (several times) then exited the form, in doing so, Internet Explorer crashed and when I restored the webpage and opened up my workflow, my form was gone.

  9. Make Nintex Workflow and Nintex Forms formulas Consistent

Make Nintex Workflow and Nintex Forms formulas Consistent

I came to the conclusion that the function fn-DateDiffMinutes (Nintex Workflow) and DateDiffMinutes (Nintex Forms) produced different results. Nintex Workflow offered a pure result of a positive and negative number, and that Nintex Forms manipulated the result by converting it to an Absolute value.

I would like to make a few suggestions for your consideration going forward.
1.) Make them consistent in the pure sense where the result is positive or negative. Your documentation on the formula window when using the inline function versus the runtime function provide the exact same formula…

  10. Workflow Constants - Republish when constant is renamed

    Hi Nintex,

Recently had an incident where an administrator renamed a workflow constant assuming it would automatically update in the workflows. The result was instead that all the workflows went looking for the constant by the old name and wouldn't work!

Something like the "Republish to all" that UDA's have would be great for workflow constants too.

    Thanks!

  11. Color coding of references

After adding a reference in the designer (in a regular field or within the RTE) you cannot tell where this reference is comming from, you just have the name of the reference.

This is very troublesome if there is an item property call "foo" as well as a variable called "foo" and maybe even a common property "foo".

So far I try to prefix all my variables with "var" so I can tell them apart, but that doesn't feel right.

I would love to be able to tell the different source apart by having the references color coded im some…

  12. Enable all variable types for "Show on start form"

At the moment I can not set the checkbox "Show on start form" for all types of variables.
It would be nice to support all of them.

Currently we need the List Item ID on start form which is not supported yet. So we have to find a workaround with a Number, because Integer is not supported either.

  13. Validation for nr of actions in workflow while saving/publishing

It would be helpful when during saving/publishing a workflow a message will be displayed when workflows includes more than 100 actions. It can be a performance issue when workflows have more than 100 actions.

  14. Perform a start-up check against the version of the Nintex database

Nintex 2013 lacks a start-up check against the version of the Nintex database. Nintex designer should not load and workfows should not execute if the database schema – or any other component – SharePoint, Windows, even browser – is not the exact version supported (or later).

  15. Show Code

Nintex is a great tool for non developer to get idea of what goes into development to help understand the logic and get into development.
It would be great to see the behind the scenes code for the whole workflow. And you should be able to select languages from drop down.

  16. Ability to add new tag family

    Hi,

now we have 3 tags family; document, lean, and timeframe. My idea is to allow the Promaster to add a new tag family based on business needs like, business requirements, auditing tags, etc.

  18. SQL Request Control in task form does not populate the existing list column values

Currently the SQL Request Control is able to capture existing list column value when open in edit mode in List Item form, but in Task form it is not pre-populating the original values from the list column. This is the major drawback when we use multi-level approvals with SQL Request control.

  19. Create automatic variables by ContentType

It would be very nice to create variables by a single click. I have lists with 30+ Columns and I need any column as variable. I would be great to generate variables with the type of the existing list columns automatically. Deleting with a single click would be great also.

  20. Make Save Save

When you click Save within an action the workflow does not actually save its changes. This means that people often think they have saved the changes to their workflow and are upset to find that the changes did not save and if they had closed the page it is all lost.
