New Responsive Designer Close button in header
The current behavior: The close button returns you to the default list view.
The desired/expected behavior:
- When form is opened in full page:
The close button redirects you back to where you came from OR redirects you to the redirect URL specific for the cancel button in the action panel settings, if available.
- When form is opened in dialog:
The close button should close the dialog.
Thanks for your suggestion. I will update this ticket if the status changes.
There is no point having a redirect URL for both the submit and cancel buttons, if you still are going to allow the user to press close and return to the list view. We capture confidential information in some of our forms where we don't want the user viewing the full list of items submitted and do not wish to have to resort to permission changes and restricting views to filter by 'created = [Me]' in order to prevent private data being viewed. As suggested by Andrea, the Close button should simply either close the dialogue box or mirror the behaviour of the cancel button (e.g. redirect to the same URL if provided).

This is a real most in our company. We recently spent effort on building a dashboard for a SharePoint Online modern site homepage. When user clicks on link it routes to form successfully but when they click on close button it routes them to the list. This is not the intention if we have this fancy front-end dashboard in the homepage. Please help us prioritizing this! We really like the new responsive form but seems limited to basic form functionalities.
