How can we improve Nintex Forms for Office 365?

  1. Enable 'default' sorting and filtering on a 'filtered ListView' on a Nintex Form

It is now impossible to to extra filtering and/or sorting on a ListView - by clicking on the columnheaders - when the listview is already filtered by a setting in the ListView-configuration.

When users now click on the columnheader, they expect to have the default Sharepoint behaviour, but instead, nothing happens.

I would like to have the default functionality also available for a filtered listview, so users can easily find data when the ListView on the form is relative large.

Example of a business case: we have a meeting-list, with instances of meetings. We have a second list, for storing…

  2. Hide delete button on Responsive forms

CSS can be used to hide ribbon controls on Classic 365 Forms but not Responsive 365 Forms.
Expansion of current CSS form options to check boxes hiding/showing ribbon buttons (on Edit screens).

Thanks for your suggestion. Since CSS is not available in Responsive Forms, we will certainly consider what configuration options would be available in relation to the buttons.

The new Responsive Forms designer does not have a SharePoint ribbon but rather a new minimal ribbon which gives us a lot of flexibility.

  4. Convert designer experiences from Classic to Responsive

I have forms i am working on in the classic designer. I would like to start working on them in the responsive designer. Also, any changes that need to be made to old forms, it would be nice to use the new responsive designer.

We have discussed the idea of converting from Classic to Responsive but due to the big change in structure, we are not sure it would give a great experience.

As an example, a form of 1000px in a 10×10 grid would be a 100 column grid. Converting this from Classic to a Responsive 4 column grid would not look great. The best we could do is just list every control stacked under each other. If you think this would still be useful, please leave a comment below.

  5. Add 'Change Content Type' control

There's no way for the user to change a content type while editing in a form in 365.

  6. Remove ribbon from form

good to have the option to remove the ribbon once the form is published. The end user may click the 'save' option and save it locally or name it.

End users should not be able to use the ribbon to save & name forms, A dedicated save&submit button in the form not the ribbon should be used for saving.

Thanks for your suggestion Steve. This is now in the backlog for development in Universal Forms for Office 365.

Would you want to hide the bar completely? Or would you expect some flexibility regarding which buttons are shown? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  7. Make it more user friendly, especially rules and formulas.

Please make the option to use rules as a second choice. Nintex should create more useful functions on the side panel to create forms such as "branching" or "hiding." Rules are not very user friendly and the Nintex guides are not helpful.

Nintex Forms for Nintex Workflow Cloud includes a new rules engine with a more intuitive user experience. We are looking into how we can bring a similar experience to Nintex Forms for Office 365.

  8. calculated columns

It would be great to be able to display calculated SharePoint columns in Nintex forms. It seems they are filtered out. Sometimes it is not possible to complete the same functionality in the calculated value control.

  9. The ability to publish Anonymous forms to the Internet (using Nintex Live)

The ability to publish Anonymous forms to the Internet (using Nintex Live) so forms can be filled by (potential) customers from a website.

This feature is still in the backlog. We are focused on Universal Forms for Office 365 at the moment.

Once we ship Universal Forms for Office 365 and SharePoint, we will review our offering of Live Forms.

I will update this feature once we ship Universal Forms.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  10. Allow for conditional formatting in responsive form.

Font colours should be changeable if conditions are met.

Thanks for your suggestion Angela. This is something I would like to implement with Universal Forms – i certainly see the value.

It may not make it into the first release of Universal Forms for Office 365, but its definitely something I would like to see in the product.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  11. Duplicate form format, for task forms.

All the user to duplicate New, Edit or View forms, formats into a task form. Saving developer time, at this point the fields are carried over without the customized formats that have been added to the original form.

    Thanks for your suggestion Dottie.

As we are currently building Universal Forms which will include a new Responsive Task Form, we will be revisiting how Task Forms are created.

When we begin development of the new Task Forms, I will update this idea.

    Cheers,
    Euan

  12. Placeholders

Add an easy way to add a placeholder to a control.
